Venice Apartment Rentals

Visitors to beautiful Venice often struggle to decide which part of this wonderful city they wish to stay in, when making a decision about their Venice apartment rentals.

After all, with close to 80 different Venice apartments for vacation rental, it's tough to make a choice unless you already know the city well. Of course, they also have to evaluate the range of botique hotels in Venice as well, but as has been said elsewhere on this site, hotels tend to be a lot more expensive in the city built on water.

Venice is divided into 6 sestieri - divisions or districts - comprising Cannaregio, San Polo, Dorsoduro (including the Giudecca), Santa Croce, San Marco (including San Giorgio Maggiore), and Castello (including San Pietro di Castello and Sant'Elena), which gives you plenty of choice when it comes to choosing from our range of apartments in Venice Italy.

One popular location is near Piazzo St. Marco (or, St Marks Square in English). This is the principal square of Venice (and notable for being land instead of water!) and is extremely popular with tourists and the Venice pigeon population!

Another popular location to find Venice apartment rentals is near the Accademia - Venice's famous museum/gallery of pre-19th Century art, situated on the south bank of the Grand Canal, in the sestieri of Dorsoduro. This museum has Venetian paintings from Veneto as well as from the Bizantine and Gothic fourteenth century to the artists of the Renaissance, Bellini, Carpaccio, Giorgione, Veronese, Tintoretto and Tiziano until Gianbattista Tiepolo and the Vedutisti of the eighteenth century, Canaletto, Guardi, Bellotto, Longhi.

The next area you may wish to consider renting a vacation apartment in is Cannaregio. It is the northernmost of the six historic sestieri, and is the second largest sestiere by land area and the largest by population. Today, the areas of the district along the Grand Canal from the train station to the Rialto Bridge are packed with tourists, but the rest of Cannaregio is residential and relatively peaceful, with morning markets, neighborhood shops, and small cafes.

Dorsoduro (home to the Accadamia) has the highest land areas of the city (including Giudecca island). Some of the attractions in the quarter on the main islands include the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Palazzo Dario, San Trovaso, San Pantalon, San Nicolo da Tolentino, the Ospedale Giustinian, the Church of San Sebastiano, the Palazzo Ariani, the Palazzo Zenobio, the Church of Santa Maria del Carmelo and Scuola Grande dei Carmini, Campo Santa Margherita, Ca' Foscari, Ca' Rezzonico and Campo San Barnaba.

We also have apartments for rent on Giudecca, the aforementioned island in the Venetian lagoon - part of the sestieri of Dorsoduro. This island is now regarded as an exclusive residential area, and is known for its churches and long dock.
